This week in the Big Ten football power rankings, the Iowa Hawkeyes came back to defeat the Penn State Nittany Lions 23-20 at Kinnick Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Come on, here’s your chance
Don’t let it slip right through your hands
Are you ready for the ride of your life?
Your dreams are riding on the wind
Just reach out and pull them in and
Get ready for the ride of your life
The ride of your life

~Ride of Your Life  by John Gregory

This season has been quite the ride in the Big Ten. The Iowa Hawkeyes, Ohio State Buckeyes, Michigan State Spartans, Michigan Wolverines, and Penn State Nittany Lions are all still alive to make the College Football Playoff.

The Big Ten has five teams ranked in the top ten and has looked like the best conference in college football so far. However, it is a long way to Nov. 2, and many of these teams will play one another. Set your calendars for Oct. 30. Penn State and Ohio State clash, and in-state rivals Michigan and Michigan State play.

The Hawkeyes have the easiest path to Indianapolis, playing in the Big Ten West. However, Iowa has to put up some points if they want to win the Big Ten. Ohio State is (in my Lee Corso voice) sneaking around the chicken coop, pounding lesser opponents.

Despite their last two wins being against Rutgers and Maryland, the Buckeyes scored more points in their previous two games (118) than the Hawkeyes have scored (108) all season. Suffice it to say that the Buckeyes are washing the stink of that Oregon loss off and taking care of business.

Until then, enjoy big bass drums, trophies in the shape of axes, a big game with no trophy and Rosedale’s named Floyd. Here are your Big Ten Power Rankings.
