How did the current college football AP Top 25 fare in Week 6 and what should each team be looking forward to in Week 7?

1. Georgia (6-0)

We have a new No. 1 ranked team for the first time all season. The Bulldogs find themselves at the top after easily being the most impressive team this year. You can’t say enough how good this defense is. Every single week, it impresses me more and more. I don’t know if there’s a single team in the country that will be able to consistently score on this defense for four quarters. They’ve given up three touchdowns in six games. Think about that and how crazy that is for a second.

The Bulldogs’ game against Auburn on Saturday was actually somewhat competitive for about three quarters. It was more of a slow churning victory where Georgia eventually just wore the Tigers out and were not going to be denied. Georgia will now host College GameDay for the second time in three weeks as they welcome undefeated Kentucky next weekend in what should be a very low scoring game.

Next game: vs. Kentucky
My prediction: Win 28-6

2. Iowa (6-0)

I can’t believe it’s Week 7 and Iowa is the second-ranked team in the country. It just blows my mind because if you watch this team, you would not even think they should be in the top five. But sometimes, it doesn’t matter how you win as long as you get it done. That is how it’s been for Iowa so far this season who still is 6-0 having some impressive wins.

So I have to give them some credit. But I’m only giving credit to their defense who is truly elite. They forced four more turnovers in this one which continues to be the reason they win games. I’ve never seen a team get this many interceptions before.

I have to admit that the Hawkeyes truthfully should’ve lost this game to Penn State who was outplaying them until Sean Clifford went down with an injury. We can call it luck all we want but Iowa has taken care of business so far and has a favorable schedule that could allow them to be undefeated going into the Big 10 Championship in December.

Next game: vs. Purdue
My prediction: Win 28-14
