3. Cincinnati (5-0)

This is the highest that Cincinnati has ever been ranked in the AP Top 25. Pretty exciting stuff for my alma mater who continues to impress every week.

The Bearcats could have very well had a let down game coming off a big win, but instead they routed Temple by 49 points. It was a little bit of a slow start in the first half which is to be expected on a short week of practice. But it didn’t matter for Cincinnati who went off in the second half scoring 35 unanswered points.

Cincinnati is now in prime position to realistically make the College Football Playoff if it just keeps winning. The only concern for this team at this point is its kicking unit. Cincinnati cannot rely on its kicker Cole Smith who continues to miss field goals and is now making just 38 percent on the season. That is just unacceptable and I’m praying that their games never come down to a last-second field goal this season.

Next game: vs. UCF
My prediction: Win 38-17

4. Oklahoma (6-0)

The Red River Showdown may have game of the year so far midway through the season. It was as high scoring and as entertaining as they get. This game featured a 21-point comeback from the Sooners who were getting absolutely wrecked in the first quarter.

Lincoln Riley made a difficult decision and elected to bench Spencer Rattler at halftime to bring in backup freshman quarterback Caleb Williams. The Sooners never looked back from there as Williams got the offense rolling and led the comeback effort. He beat the Longhorns with his arm and his legs and truly impressed the hell out of me with some of the plays he made.

Riley now has to decide if he’s going to keep playing this freshman phenom or bring back Rattler who was once a Heisman favorite. I never once expected Rattler to be in that position this season but he may have to find his way out of Oklahoma if Williams gets the start next week.

Next game: vs. TCU
My prediction: Win 40-30
