Who saw this coming? Seven weeks into the year, the Bearcats are the No. 2 team in the country after dominating UCF at home.
Cincinnati and Luke Fickell look like the unquestioned top Group of Five team in college football after beating the Knights in Week 7, 56-21. Sure, there was no Dillon Gabriel, but the Bearcats were borderline unstoppable, so it didn’t matter what the Bearcats did on offense because this game was out of reach.
Desmond Ridder’s Heisman campaign did take a bit of a hit as he passed for just 140 yards and a touchdown on 13-of-23 passing. Luckily, Jerome Ford picked up the slack and he had 189 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.
The Bearcats are now 7-0 on year and they look borderline unbeatable in the AAC this year. If they can go undefeated in the American this season, there’s a good chance the Bearcats will be in the College Football Playoff.
Cincinnati will be No. 2 in Week 8.
