Kentucky had a chance to make a statement and enter the top 10 in Week 7, but Georgia is too good right now. Obviously, this isn’t a good measurement of how good the Wildcats truly are and they will probably hover somewhere around the top 15, but Kentucky may not quite be an SEC contender just yet. The Wildcats are still fun to watch and they may ruin some seasons in 2021.

Grayson McCall and Coastal Carolina are incredibly fun to watch and if you haven’t had a chance to see them play this season, check them out. The Chanticleers were on a bye in Week 7 and will remain a top-15 team, but given how well they’re playing this year, Cincinnati better watch out because that top Group of Five spot is not locked in.

Notre Dame was off this week and it’s actually a much-needed time for regrouping after limping through the first half of the season. Sure, the Irish are 5-1, but they haven’t exactly looked like world-beaters. They did just beat Virginia Tech on the road in Week 6 which gave them a nice confidence-boost. They’ll be in that 10-15 range again.

Matt Corral and Ole Miss went into Knoxville hoping for a big win over Tennessee and the Volunteers put up quite the fight. The Rebels picked up a big win and that was as tough of an environment as they’ll face all season. Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss escaped another loss in Week 7.

We might just see Oklahoma State jump into the top 10 but because no one ahead of the Cowboys lost other than Kentucky and Iowa — and the latter was ranked all the way up at No. 2 — I think the Cowboys are probably just outside of the top 10. The Cowboys did go on the road to pick up one of the best wins of the week over No. 25 Texas and they aren’t far out of the playoff conversation.
