Week 7 of the college football season saw a few contenders on byes, but Week 8 should return plenty of intense action. Still, there was a lot of Top 25 movement.

Let’s recap and look forward to Week 8.

1. Georgia (7-0)

Week 7 result: Defeated Kentucky 30-13

Two touchdowns is the most that Georgia’s defense has given up in a game this season. That is absolutely unacceptable and they should be ashamed for allowing two scores in a single game. All jokes aside, Georgia proved they were far too dominant for Kentucky. However, this was a seven-point game at halftime before the Bulldogs pulled away in the third quarter.

Stetson Bennett continues to impress as Georgia’s quarterback in the absence of JT Daniels. In fact, Bennett has played so well that I don’t know if Kirby Smart should even make the switch back to Daniels once he is healthy. They certainly haven’t needed elite quarterback play to win games.

Freshman Brock Bowers is turning into a star for this Bulldogs offense at tight end. He was the MVP of this one going for over 100 receiving yards and two touchdowns earning him a 92.6 PFF grade. Bowers has arguably emerged as Georgia’s most reliable weapon on offense.

Next game: BYE

2. Cincinnati (6-0)

Week 7 result: Defeated UCF 56-21

The Bearcats moved up to No. 2 overall after routing UCF on Saturday. This is the highest Cincinnati has ever been ranked in the AP Poll.

If you haven’t heard of running back Jerome Ford before this game, I’m guessing you know who he is now. This guy had four touchdown runs in the first half alone. Finishing with over 200 total yards on 21 touches, Ford earned a final PFF grade of 76.9 in this one. You may not know that Ford is a transfer from Alabama where he actually got some real playing time for two years. So if that doesn’t tell you how good this dude really is, I don’t know what will.

The Bearcats simply just have to keep winning and there is a very realistic playoff scenario for them.

Next game: vs. Navy
My prediction: Win 37-6
