3. Cade McNamara will tie his career-high in passing touchdowns

Cade McNamara has not had to throw all that much as the Wolverines’ quarterback this season. Their offense primarily operates on the ground through their two dynamic running backs in Blake Corum and Hassan Haskins.

McNamara has only thrown the ball 119 times through six games and only has five touchdown passes on the season. It’s not that I necessarily think he’ll need to throw a lot in this one, I just expect that Northwestern’s defense will allow a lot of wide-open passes. And sometimes you just have to take what the defense gives you.

McNamara hasn’t had a game with more than two passing touchdowns this season. However, he did have a game with four last year versus Rutgers.

Whether they want to or not, Michigan is going to have to start passing the ball more down the stretch as they head into the toughest part of their schedule coming up. So they might as well get some practice in now against an inferior Northwestern defense.

I predict McNamara will have four touchdown passes in this game.
