After having seven consecutive weeks of at least one ranked versus ranked matchups, Week 8 will be the first week this season to not feature any such matchups. Those games seem to draw the most attention and eyeballs. However, even with the lack of those contests, there are still some good matchups on tap for this weekend’s slate.

With the way this season has gone, there are sure to be some upsets in Week 8. In fact, 14th ranked Coastal Carolina went down Wednesday night to Appalachian State. Of the other 18 ranked teams suiting up this weekend, four are underdogs and five are favored by less than seven points. It would be a minor miracle if no other upsets occur this weekend. Upsets are one of the reasons that make college football so great.

Notable games this weekend include Oregon-UCLA, LSU-Ole Miss, and USC-Notre Dame. Clemson at Pittsburgh is notable because it is the Panthers with the ranking in front of their name and the Tigers are unranked. If Pitt wins, it will be time to say adios to Clemson for this season.

Besides those games, there are some other tantalizing matchups that may not be on fans’ radars. These games feature some exciting passing games, old-school rushing attacks, and hopefully very close contests. While watching the bigger named contests this Saturday, do not forget to keep an eye on the following three matchups.
