College Football 2021: Winners, Losers of Week Nine AP Poll Release
Week Eight lacked many marquee games, but there was plenty of excitement and some new winners and losers of the Week Nine AP Poll
There was a lot of talk heading into this week of college football about how there were no ranked matchups and no games with playoff implications. At the end of the day, two top-10 teams went down and we had the longest game in FBS history.
Kansas put a scare into Oklahoma and nearly pulled off an unthinkable upset and Cincinnati also struggled on the road against Navy. The Week Nine AP Poll had some movement up and down the poll this week.
This release of the top 25 is the last one that won’t be accompanied by any playoff rankings the following Tuesday. The playoff picture is taking shape and it is set up for what should be some big showdowns on Saturday.
The number one team in the country was off on Saturday, but the Georgia Bulldogs will be getting ready for what might be their biggest test against Florida until the SEC championship game.
Alabama had a closer than expected game against Tennessee, despite what the final score might have indicated. One team that should be on everyone’s radar for the next few weeks should be the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Ohio State looks like it is clicking at just the right time and the Buckeyes offense is living up to the hype that they were getting before the season. They have not beaten anyone of consequence yet, but they should be tested against Penn State on Saturday.
Here are the winners and losers of the Week Nine AP Poll release.
