The Duke Blue Devils were off after their 48-0 defeat at the hands of the Virginia Cavaliers. Mistakes and miscues against the Cavaliers beset the Blue Devils.
Coach David Cutcliffe had a week to clean up the mistakes that have plagued the Blue Devils. The schedule is not easy for Duke the rest of the way. The Devils play ACC leaders Wake Forest and Pitt in back-to-back weeks.
Boston College’s offense after Phil Jurkovec’s season-ending injury has been awful. The Eagles have scored just 34 points in ACC play this season and have lost their first three ACC games.
The Eagles put together a good game plan to compete with Clemson, but both NC State and Louisville figured that out. Boston College plays Syracuse and their ground and pound offense this weekend.
After consecutive heartbreaking losses, Miami won a close game, defeating North Carolina State 31-30 in Coral Gables. There was a lot of Manny Diaz hot seat talk after the loss to North Carolina.
In Diaz’s defense, this team has been hit hard by the injury bug. Quarterback D’Eriq King, running backs Cam’Ron Harris and Don Chaney, and offensive linemen Corey Gaynor and Jalen Rivers are all out for the season.
ESPN’s Andrea Adelson reported three days ago that safety Bubba Bolden is out with a shoulder injury for the rest of the season. This has forced a youth movement in Coral Gables.
