3. Jerome Ford will have a season-high in carries

Cincinnati’s starting back Jerome Ford has been an absolute beast all season. He is averaging over 100 yards a game, over six yards a carry and has 13 rushing touchdowns which are tied for first in the country. Ford has arguably become of the nation’s top backs this season.

The one complaint I have is that Cincinnati really doesn’t give him the ball all that often. At least not as much as they should.

Through seven games, Ford is averaging about 16 carries per game which in my opinion is not enough. I know they have blown out most of their opponents so they really haven’t needed the workload out of him.

But last week was a perfect example of this. Navy was by far their closest game of the season and they only handed the ball to him 15 times. Most of his gains were pretty short in that one with the exception of one 43-yard touchdown run. But still, I think you need to be feeding this guy the ball especially when Desmond Ridder is struggling to pass effectively like he was last week.

Ford’s season-high for carries in a game is currently 20. I believe he should be getting the ball way more than that down the stretch this season and I predict he will have over 20 carries versus Tulane on Saturday.
