Week 9 of the college football season is officially in the books, and you know what that means? The College Football Playoff rankings will be taking center stage starting in Week 10.

In fact, the first playoff poll of the season will be revealed on Nov. 2 which should draw a lot of eyes because of how many teams are vying for one of those top four spots.

Some statements were made in Week 9 from contenders as Michigan State took down Michigan in one of the best games of the season, Georgia handled Florida with relative ease, and Ohio State battled back from a slow start to beat Penn State in Columbus.

There were also some contenders who took stumbles like Iowa which lost its second straight game, this time to Wisconsin by 20 points, Pitt lost a tough game against Miami, and Iowa State dropped a shocker at West Virginia.

The night slate was arguably the most intriguing with some top-ranked teams facing make-or-break games.

Ole Miss and Auburn duked it out and the Tigers found a way to win, Kentucky lost a tough one to Mississippi State which will impact their playoff aspirations, and Notre Dame picked up a huge win over North Carolina for the second year in a row.
