College Football Playoff Rankings 2021: Projected Top 25, Week 10
It wasn’t long ago that everyone was counting Notre Dame out this season after losing to Cincinnati at home, but Brian Kelly has the Fighting Irish believing in a playoff run yet again.
In fact, Notre Dame took down a tough North Carolina team for the second straight year on Saturday night, putting up 44 points in the win.
Jack Coan continues to gain some confidence, passing for 213 yards and a touchdown on 16-of-24 completions and the Irish offense is beginning to look more competent with a clear starting quarterback making himself known.
And also for a second straight game, Kyren Williams broke 100 rushing yards as he put up 199 and a touchdown on just 22 carries. He looked like one of the best running backs in the country on Saturday night and returned to his 2020 self in the win. If he keeps playing like this, no one is going to be able to stop him and the Irish run game.
Notre Dame was No. 11 in the AP Top 25 last week, but in the first playoff poll, I see the Irish getting some respect as a top-10 team.
You’d be hard-pressed to name 10 better teams right now than Notre Dame.
