I’m a huge believer in Oregon being as talented as any team in the country and if the Ducks continue to play as well as they did against Colorado on Saturday night, they will be running the table and making that top four in the playoff race.

However, right now, I see Oregon as the No. 7 team in the country just like its AP Top 25 ranking heading into Week 9 despite that 52-29 win over Colorado, but there’s still plenty of room to improve and rise in the playoff rankings.

The playoff committee is going to show the Ducks some respect, but they’ll just miss out on the “first two out” in the first rankings on Nov. 2. They do have a huge win over the No. 3 team in Ohio State but that seems like an eternity ago. If Oregon had never lost to Stanford, the Ducks might be the No. 2 team in the country.

Anthony Brown is improving at the perfect time and the Ducks just found a capable backup for Travis Dye in the form of Byron Cardwell.

Oregon improved to 7-1 on the year and the remaining schedule is very favorable. This team should finish no worse than 11-1 in the regular season.
