2. Sonny Dykes

Dykes name has been mentioned some this week as a possible candidate for the Texas Tech job, but SMU might be the more attractive gig.

The same cannot be said when comparing the program with TCU.

Both programs share the same city, but the difference is that TCU will have power five status and SMU has not been extended an invitation yet. If the Mustangs never get the opportunity to go to the Big 12, then a move to a better program would make sense for Dykes.

Dykes has done a great job at rebuilding the SMU football program and the Mustangs are the best they have been since receiving the death penalty years ago. While they did lose yesterday, SMU is still 7-1 and going to play in a bowl game and could win double-digit games.

Dykes is also an offensive-minded head coach and that fits in nicely in the Big 12. Look for Dykes name to be mentioned often with the TCU head coaching job.
