The first official College Football Playoff rankings are in and the committee absolutely disrespected some teams.

The committee totally ignored any previous rankings with the AP Top 25 or the Coaches Poll and took matters into their own hands. It seems strength of schedule was heavily considered in their decision-making.

It makes you wonder if some of these College Football Playoff committee members even watched anyone other than their respective schools in college football this year.

From top to bottom, the 25 teams that landed in the rankings were a surprise. The first four teams listed were Georgia, Alabama, Michigan State, and Oregon — in that order.

Georgia is absolutely deserving of that spot and so is Alabama (ranked No. 3 in the AP poll). You can have a healthy argument about Michigan State (ranked No. 5), but Oregon (ranked No. 7) is quite a stretch, bypassing Cincinnati (9-0), Oklahoma (9-0), and Ohio State (7-1).

Let’s take a look at the five teams who were the biggest snubs from the first batch of College Football Playoff rankings.

1. Cincinnati

The Cincinnati football team has been ranked inside the top 10 in all season (including the preseason. The Bearcats have one of the best defenses in the country, allowing just 14.2 points per game.

Their most impressive win of the season came on the road, in a hostile environment, against a top-ranked Notre Dame football team. The Bearcats bested the Irish 24-13 in Week 4 of college football.

They’ve demolished their conference opponents by nearly 20+ points in each game, except for a slight scare against Navy — an always tough to play team with their signature triple-option heavy offense.

Cincinnati has been ranked No. 3 or better in the rankings since Oct. 10.
