College Football Playoff Rankings 2021: 5 biggest snubs from Week 10 poll
4. UTSA
The No. 16 ranked team in the country is nowhere to be found in the first week of the College Football Playoff rankings. That’s unacceptable.
They’ve got wins against Illinois (a power five team), Memphis (who went to the Cotton Bowl just a few years ago).
The Roadrunners are one of the few remaining undefeated teams in the FBS. They’ve scored 315 points this season (points for) and allowed just 150 points (points against). You’ll be hard-pressed to find someone who has doubled their points for versus points against.
Elite programs like Ohio State, Georgia, and Alabama are on a shortlist of teams that have more than doubled their points for vs points against this season.
The Roadrunners are going to head into their next game against UTEP with a massive chip on their shoulders.
5. Pittsburgh
The Pittsburgh Panthers barely cracked the Top 25 in the current college football playoff rankings. It could be argued that they should be much higher.
They are 6-2 on the season but have an excellent resume this season. Their two losses came from a four-point loss to Miami and a three-point loss to Western Michigan.
The Panthers got a massive win against Tennessee in the first month of the season on the road and another at Virginia Tech. A big home victory against Clemson caps their impressive resume so far. Perhaps most importantly, they have largely been winning by double digits against their opponents.
Pittsburgh has a tough remaining schedule and will likely improve their standing if they can secure wins at Duke and at Syracuse, plus home bouts against UNC and Virginia.
