2. Cincinnati (8-0)

Week 9 result: Defeated Tulane 31-12

Cincinnati looked bad for the second week in a row which is a little concerning to me. I am once again stunned that they didn’t fall in the AP Poll at all.

Sure they won by 19, but this game was a lot close than the final score. Their offense struggled to put up points against the nation’s 3rd worst scoring defense in Tulane

. The Bearcats should’ve put 60 up on this defense yet they only scored 31. It has been two straight poor performances out of Desmond Ridder who has looked out of sorts recently. He needs to dial back in and step up his game down the stretch. Cincinnati’s defense also did not impress me in this one.

I know they only gave up 12 points but they let up a lot of yards and had a lot of missed tackles. This defense has struggled against the run the past two weeks and needs to clean up their tackling. It still seems like the Bearcats control their own destiny but they need to get out of this slump before it’s too late. Returning home with College Gameday coming to town this weekend should do the trick and get them rolling on offense again.

Next game: vs Tulsa

My prediction: Win 41-19
