Jeff Hafley, HC, Boston College

This is going to be another tough get for Nebraska football but the Huskers should really shoot for the stars and I honestly love what Jeff Hafley brings to the table.

The former co-defensive coordinator at Ohio State doesn’t have any ties to Nebraska, but who cares? He’s coached in the Big Ten before and while Nebraska football isn’t necessarily an elite job, the Huskers could pay Hafley more than the $3 million he’s making at Boston College.

The Huskers are going to have to pay big money and while the resume doesn’t really back it up for Hafley, the Eagles were 6-5 last season and are just 4-3 this year but don’t let that record fool you — Hafley can coach.

He would be another defensive-minded head coach and he knows how to recruit the Big Ten, plus could give Nebraska a foothold in New Jersey.

You might not see him on a bunch of lists to replace Frost, but I firmly believe he will be a solid head coach at a bigger program than Boston College very soon.

Why not Nebraska?
