College Football 2021: 3 under-the-radar games to watch in Week 10
By Shane Lunnen
3. Marshall at FAU
This will likely be the last conference matchup between Marshall and Florida Atlantic with conference realignment. Marshall will head to the Sun Belt while FAU heads off to the American.
The two teams, along with Western Kentucky, are tied atop the Conference USA East division standings so the winner will have an edge. The Owls have only one victory in the series and the Thundering Herd are on a three-game series winning streak.
Marshall’s offense is totaling over 500 yards and averaging 37 points per game. Quarterback Grant Wells has thrown for just over 2,500 yards and 10 touchdowns on the year but needs to cut down on his turnovers as he has also thrown 10 interceptions. On the ground running back Rasheen Ali has carried the rock for 808 yards and 15 touchdowns.
FAU is riding a two-game winning streak. Owl quarterback N’Kosi Perry has thrown for 1845 yards and 15 touchdowns, completing 60 percent of his passes. On defense, the Owl secondary has been ball hawks. Cornerbacks Zyon Gilbert, Korel Smith, and safety Teja Young have a pair of interceptions each. This could be a factor with Marshall’s Wells throwing a lot of interceptions on the year.
This should be a good one in College Football Week 10 between two evenly matched teams. One thing to keep in mind is FAU is a perfect 4-0 at home this year.
