Dishonorable Mentions

-Arizona State: vs USC: Arizona State has been extremely disappointing to me this season. Especially over the last two weeks, the offense has sputtered while the defense has had some real issues. Now here comes USC, fresh off a bad win against hapless Arizona. Arizona State should be able to score on USC, but the way the Sun Devil defense has looked against Utah and Washington State, USC might be able to score even more.

-(5) Ohio State: @ Nebraska: As much as I don’t think Nebraska has a shot at pulling the upset, I kept coming back to this game for some reason. The Huskers have been on the brink of being a good team. Plus they catch the Buckeyes at home coming off a tough, physical game against Penn State. Eventually, Nebraska is going to put it together and be able to win a close game. Unfortunately for Nebraska, you can’t win a close game if the game is never close.

– (18) Kentucky: vs Tennessee: At 4-4, the Vols have been basically what’s been expected. They’ve defeated the teams they were supposed to while losing to the teams they should have. Should they beat Kentucky? On the surface probably not, but that’s what makes it an upset. The Kentucky offense just isn’t great while the Vols defense should be able to do just enough. Henson Hooker will give the Kentucky defense fits, as well.

–  (24) San Diego State: @ Hawaii: It seems like the Hawaiian islands give Hawaii superpowers against good teams. They’ve already taken out Fresno State, who was ranked 18th at the time. Last year, they beat a Nevada team that finished 7-2. Before that? Nothing major, only Oregon State, Arizona, and a 10-win San Diego State team. Hawaii will have to play its best game of the season, as they haven’t faced a defense as good as San Diego State all season. The Hawaii defense, which has given up 34 or more points in six of nine games, has to be able to hold a methodical Aztec offense from converting third downs.
