2. Who is Chandler Morris?
Chad Morris, Texas high school coaching legend and former Arkansas and SMU head coach, Chandler Morris transferred to TCU from Oklahoma. Gary Patterson did some job convincing Morris to come to Fort Worth.
Morris left Norman for playing time. He was not going to find that in Oklahoma. Maybe at TCU after Max Duggan left either for the NFL or to go pro in something other than sports.
Today is a lesson for any young player about the importance of staying engaged, ready and prepared. Morris’ performance was due to the fact that he was prepared to play. The moment was not too big for him because he was ready to play.
Starting quarterback, Max Duggan broke a bone in his foot sustained against Kansas State last week. Morris came in against the Wildcats and led the Frogs to their only scoring drive in that game.
Today, Morris led the Horned Frogs to the upset victory. If Duggan is out for an extended period because of the foot and Morris plays the rest of the season as well as he played today, there could be some competition for QB1 next season.
