College Football: 5 takeaways from an upset-filled Week 10
The Big Ten West is chaos
Just ask Iowa or Ohio State how easy it is to win at Purdue as a highly-ranked team. For some reason, the Boilermakers have become experts at pulling the upset and with their win over Michigan State on Saturday, they kept themselves alive in the wild and wacky Big Ten West.
Purdue is still a long shot to win the division because it would need some help. First, the Boilermakers would need to win out which includes winning at Columbus against Ohio State next Saturday.
Outside of that, thanks to losses to Wisconsin and Minnesota, Purdue doesn’t really have the tiebreaker on its side. The win over Iowa helps, but the Badgers and Gophers would need to lose a game.
Wisconsin looks like the team to beat. The Badgers won at Purdue and beat Iowa at home. Wisconsin also plays Minnesota in the last game of the season, with the winner potentially going to the Big Ten title game.
So while the West Division is wild with four teams tied at 4-2, it’s actually the same old story with Wisconsin controlling its own destiny.
