Notre Dame football improved to 8-1 on the season after beating Navy 34-6 on Saturday inside Notre Dame Stadium. Saturday tied the largest margin of victory of the season so far at 28 points for Notre Dame.

The Irish offense was a little slow out of the gate but picked it up in the second and fourth quarters to win in blowout fashion over Navy. Quarterback Jack Coan completed 23-of-29 passing attempts for 269 yards and one passing touchdown. The Irish had some other great performances on the offensive side of the ball and we will get more into those a little bit later on in the article.

The Notre Dame defense unlike the offense showed up from start to finish.

The triple-option offense is a tough system to defend but defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman and the rest of the defensive coaches had a great game plan coming into the game and it was well executed on the field. Navy was only able to get 184 total yards as a team and one completion on the afternoon.

Here are three Irish players who earned a game ball in the teams win over Navy.
