The Duke Blue Devils are still looking for their first conference victory after their 59-24 loss to the No. 25 Pitt Panthers. Duke’s issues in conference play are simple. The Blue Devils don’t score enough points and give up too many.

What is troubling in Durham are the mistakes and miscues that have plagued the Blue Devils the past two seasons. Maybe Duke can pick up their first ACC conference win against a flailing Virginia Tech team.

The Yellow Jackets find themselves in a bit of a conundrum. Can head coach Geoff Collins recruit well enough for the Yellow Jackets to be more than just the 7th or 8th best team in the ACC? Though their loss to Miami was close, the Hurricanes dominated the Jackets in that game.

Quarterback Jeff Sims threw for 198 yards on 38 pass attempts which shows Georgia Tech’s lack of explosive playmakers on the perimeter. Tyler Van Dyke, on the other hand, threw for nearly 200 more yards on four fewer attempts.

If there were a team to put some long-term stock in, Florida State is that team. The ‘Noles battled North Carolina State despite having issues with the flu the week leading up to the game. This Florida State roster is not incredible, but they play hard for head coach Mike Norvell.

The Seminoles have to win their last three games to make it to the postseason. If they play hard and catch their last three opponents (one is rival Florida) not playing well, don’t be surprised if the Seminoles end their season on a three-game winning streak.
