Oklahoma has been flirting with danger for weeks now and Baylor football is ready to make the Sooners pay for all of their close wins.

The Bears play host to Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon and it’s going to be one of the best games of the day. Two Big 12 contenders will battle it out for position in the conference standings and one is still in the playoff race while the other is hoping to ruin those hopes.

Here’s why I think the Bears will crush Oklahoma’s playoff hopes on Saturday.

3. Oklahoma is not good on the road

Oklahoma has only played away from Norman three times this season and all three were near-losses. This will easily be the Sooners’ toughest road game of the season.

Let’s look back at the games that Oklahoma has played away from home (including one neutral site game). The Sooners’ first road game of the season was against Kansas State and the Wildcats nearly pulled off an upset, but Oklahoma held on to win 37-31.

Just one game later, the Sooners met up with Texas in the Red River Rivalry game on a neutral field at the Cotton Bowl and they needed a furious comeback to beat the Longhorns. If not for Caleb Williams’ sudden breakout, Oklahoma loses its first game of the season there.

And then just a few weeks ago, Oklahoma found itself shut out at halftime against Kansas on the road but found a way to come back in the second half with 35 points in the final 30 minutes. Not a great showing.

This team has a habit of falling behind on the road and struggling away from Norman. That will continue in Week 11.
