Louisiana is one of the best Group of Five teams in the country and the Ragin’ Cajuns are ranked in the AP Top 25, but somehow not the CFP rankings. The Ragin’ Cajuns beat Troy by 14 on the road to improve to 9-1 and that marks nine straight wins since losing to Texas in Week 1.

Like Louisiana, I’m shocked that Houston hasn’t gotten more respect by the playoff committee after winning nine straight games, but I see Dana Holgorsen’s team making the CFP rankings in Week 12. The Cougars dominated Temple in Week 11 to improve to 9-1 on the year and like Louisiana, they’ve won nine straight after a Week 1 loss to a Big 12 foe.

Pick Analysis. Last Week: 23. UTSA Roadrunners. 23. player. 2408. Scouting Report. Beat Southern Miss 27-17

Three straight Group of Five teams at the bottom of this week’s playoff rankings? Three straight Group of Five teams at the bottom of this week’s CFP rankings. UTSA needed a strong fourth quarter to pull away from Southern Miss, but it was uninspiring. I see the Roadrunners remaining at No. 23 this week.

Kyle Whittingham’s team didn’t look all that impressive against the Pac-12’s bottom-dweller in Arizona on Saturday, but the Wildcats have some newfound confidence after winning their first game since 2019 last week. The Utes may have been caught looking ahead to Oregon next week, so they get a pass for this tough showing in Tucson.

It wasn’t the prettiest of performances for Arkansas in a Week 11 win over LSU on the road, but the Tigers haven’t been afraid to play spoiler this year. Sam Pittman and Co. escaped Baton Rouge with a win and should move up a few spots despite not playing all that great on the offensive side of the ball. A solid season continues for the Razorbacks.
