CFP Rankings Projections, Week 12: Did Ohio State do enough to jump Oregon?
The Big 12 slate had some wild finishes on Saturday night, but luckily the Cowboys didn’t fall victim to one of the handfuls of upsets.
Iowa State lost to Texas Tech, Oklahoma lost its first game of the season at Baylor, and Kansas shocked Texas on the road, but fortunately for the Cowboys, they beat TCU 63-17.
The game was actually close — for a quarter — and then Oklahoma State turned a 7-3 lead into a 28-3 advantage by halftime and only added to it in the second half. This was a game Oklahoma State was supposed to win and it took care of business, and then some.
Mike Gundy’s team is the last hope the Big 12 has to make the playoff while there could be an argument made for Oklahoma to still be in the hunt if it wins out and comes away with another conference title, but the Cowboys’ chances are the best.
This team controls its own destiny and it’ll be ranked No. 9 in the CFP rankings with two weeks left.
