Texas A&M nearly put together a comeback, but a few botched plays took that away quickly. What did we learn about the Aggies?

The Texas A&M football team put together a move toward a comeback that was thwarted by some questionable play calls and even worse execution of said play calls. Things aren’t all doom and gloom for the Aggies, but it isn’t all sunshine and rainbows either. What did we learn about the Aggies? Let’s start with that defense that I have talked about week after week.

3. The Aggie defense is still good

Texas A&M’s defense has been a huge part of this season. The Aggies have been strong and have kept the Aggies in games. That didn’t change tonight. Of the 29 points that Ole Miss scored, 16 of them were almost directly related to screw-ups on the part of the offense. The first was a safety, the next 14 were either a pick-six or an interception inside the 15 that allowed Ole Miss to score a touchdown.

My point here? Honestly, the defense gave up 13 points. They are not to be blamed for this loss. There is a lot of blame going around and while the defense could have played better seeing as they did allow nearly two touchdowns, they were able to keep the Rebels out of the end zone for the most part and that kept the offense in the game.

Overall, there were questionable plays on the offense that led to the defense being on the field for extended periods of time and I believe that they did the best they could with how tired they were throughout the game.
