4. Ohio State (9-1)

Week 11 result: Defeated Purdue 59-31

I can’t recall ever seeing an offense score as quickly and as easily as Ohio State did versus Purdue in the first half. It felt like every other play was a long touchdown for the Buckeyes — which it sort of was. They did score 45 points in that half and coasted to a 59-31 victory.

Purdue could not keep its upset magic alive and honestly embarrassed itself against the Buckeyes, at least on defense. That’s what happens when you play the most explosive offense in the country, I guess.

Ohio State’s three-headed monster of Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba carried the load as usual for this team. Those three combined for six total touchdowns on the day. They caught 28 of the team’s 31 completions and had 350 of the total 361 receiving yards. This might be one of the best college receiving corps I’ve ever watched. Imagine if Jameson Williams, star Alabama receiver, hadn’t transferred. Just think about those four receivers all on the same team.

The Buckeyes meant business and totally balled out on Saturday. They indeed looked like one of the best teams in the country and they’ll need to keep up that momentum going into their final two games which will be crucial towards their playoff run.

Next game: vs. Michigan State
Prediction: Win 48-21
