This week in ACC football, No. 12 Wake Forest and No. 21 Pitt won close games last weekend.

Welcome back to headquarters on the corner of Tobacco Road and the future site of the David Cutcliffe memorial trophy. The ACC is headed to the wire in many different ways. Syracuse, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Miami are all 5-5. In the next two weeks, each team will play for an opportunity at the postseason.

Then there’s Florida State. Their season will genuinely come down to the wire. Win out, and they are going bowling. Even if they don’t go to a bowl, head coach Mike Norvell has had quite the influence on the program in Tallahassee.

Wake Forest has a program measuring game against Clemson. Sure, the Tigers are down this season, but a win for the Deacons would be a nice feather in the cap of an outstanding season. No. 21 Pitt has a date with Brennan Armstrong and the Virginia Cavaliers. The Panthers are in must-win mode the rest of the season to stave off the Cavaliers for the Coastal.
