It’s Week 12 of the 2021 college football season and here are five bold predictions as we creep closer to the College Football Playoff.

The stretch run of the 2021 college football season has arrived and we are going to be treated to some excellent matchups in Week 12 starting with an early kickoff between College Football Playoff contenders.

Michigan State is still being doubted by many in the college football world. The selection committee says the Spartans aren’t as good as Michigan, even though MSU beat the Wolverines and many expect Michigan State to lose in a lopsided fashion to Ohio State.

While the Spartans are being disrespected a bit, they have the chance to silence their doubters with a win in Columbus. The College Football Playoff selection committee will have to stop ignoring the Spartans then.

Michigan State would then need wins over Penn State and Wisconsin to reach the playoff. It would be very similar to 2015 — the last time the Spartans made it.

The problem? This Ohio State team and in particular the offense is just too good.

1. C.J. Stroud, Ohio State offense goes bonkers

Kenneth Walker III is incredible and he’s a legitimate Heisman Trophy Contender. But so is C.J. Stroud. The Ohio State quarterback has 22 touchdowns compared to just two interceptions in his last five games and against one of the worst pass defenses in college football, Stroud will get well over 300 yards and at least four touchdown passes in a defining performance.

Walker will get over 100 yards and have a solid effort but it won’t be enough to win the game or keep himself in front of Stroud in the Heisman race.
