Vanderbilt stays put at No. 14 simply because they have done little to nothing to show that they deserve a spot anywhere else. They have Ole Miss this week and honestly, I am hoping that this team makes it out of this one alive. Ole Miss still controls their own destiny and Vanderbilt’s season is over in almost every way. They already sit at the bottom of the conference in basketball too, so this is just counting down to baseball season now.

This is the saddest fall from grace that I have covered so far this season. I had Florida at No. 4 in the preseason poll and up to No. 3 at one point. Now, they sit at second to bottom of the conference with a loss to South Carolina on their resume and the need to find one more win for bowl eligibility on the horizon. They play Missouri in Columbia this week and with how their defense has been struggling, I am not sure that that will be the win that they need.

Gamecocks . 12. team. 850. . 5-5. Previous: 13th

The Gamecocks are up one spot after beating Florida and then subsequently losing to Missouri. They are one win away from bowl eligibility in Shane Beamer’s first year, something that I can’t say was expected from the Gamecocks this year. They face off against a Bo Nix-less Auburn team that is looking to figure things out with TJ Finley stepping in. This could be a huge win for South Carolina if they were to find a way to pull it off.
