SEC Power Rankings Week 12: Florida in free fall after weeks of struggle
By Shelbie Warr
Mississippi State is coming off of a 40-point comeback against Auburn and things are looking up for Miek Leach’s bunch. They get Tennessee State this week and that should be an easy win for the Bulldogs. The interesting game should be the Egg Bowl in two weeks. That one against Ole Miss will be the deciding factor on how good things are this season.
This may be the most frustrating and underachieving Aggie football team that the world has seen and that includes the Johnny Manizel years when they were just a couple of games short of a championship berth. How does one beat Alabama and then lose to the entire state of Mississippi? That aside though, they should be good against Praire View A&M, though it won’t be near as big of a win as they would like it to be if their offense can’t figure it out. Now, the LSU game? I’m not so sure.
Ole Miss, after beating Texas A&M, controls their own destiny in terms of NY6 berths. The playoff is out, I believe, but with games against Vanderbilt and Mississippi State left, things are looking pretty easy for Matt Corral and company. Ole Miss has shown to be an extremely competent offensive team with a defense that shows up when it wants to. We will see how that works out for them against the Bulldogs, but they’ll be fine looking for that 9th win against Vanderbilt.
