The Clemson football team dominated the No. 10 Wake Forest Demon Deacons at home this afternoon. Here are three takeaways from the game.

While the Clemson football team will need a miracle to win the ACC Atlantic Division, the Tigers made it extremely difficult for #10 Wake Forest with their 48-27 decimation of the Demon Deacons. Running backs Will Shipley and Kobe Pace combined for 313 rushing yards and four touchdowns at Death Valley East this afternoon.

Tigers’ quarterback D.J. Uiagelelei threw for 208 yards, nursing his balky knee in the win. The Wake Forest offense was not so fortunate, scoring just 13 points in real-time. The Tigers sacked quarterback Sam Hartman seven times. The Deacons ran for just 36 yards in the loss.

Here are three takeaways from today’s game.

3. Clemson football found an offensive identity.

Clemson’s offensive coordinator has received his fair (and not so fair) share of criticism for the Tigers’ offensive performances this season. Today is not one of those days. The Tigers had their best offensive output of the season.

The Tigers scored over thirty points for the fourth consecutive game and forty for the second game in a row. The running game has been solid during this streak, with today the best output for the running game this season.

The offensive line has played better today than it has all season. This season, the line play has been the Achilles’ heel for the Tigers due to so many injuries. Clemson’s replacements have settled in and are playing better.

Both Kobe Pace and Will Shipley ran for over 100 yards as a result. Clemson’s offensive revival combined with their defense will make it challenging for South Carolina next week in their annual rivalry game.
