It’s tough to say that Ole Miss is really deserving of a top-10 spot this week after beating Vanderbilt by a couple of touchdowns, but there are really no other teams that can be considered for the top 10. Maybe Oklahoma? Not sure, but the Rebels will likely sneak in at No. 10 after beating the Commodores.

Matt Corral remained in the Heisman race with another solid performance and over 300 yards and two touchdowns but he did throw an interception near the goal-line late in the fourth quarter when he could have padded those stats. He should get an invite to New York or at least some consideration.

The Rebels held on to win and they should be considered for one of those top-10 spots over the Sooners because, well, they’ve been more consistent than Oklahoma.

Ole Miss may be out of serious playoff contention but sitting in the top 10 heading into Egg Bowl week in Lane Kiffin’s second year is a heck of a good sign. This program is trending in the right direction.
