Oklahoma State continues to prove why everyone has been so high on it this season but the committee surprisingly disrespected it in the Week 12 CFP rankings. Was No. 9 a fair spot for a team that manhandled TCU? Probably not, especially since the Cowboys are the top team in the Big 12, but they proved themselves yet again in Week 12.

The Cowboys went into Lubbock, Texas, and picked up a big win over a solid Texas Tech team that has been giving some top teams runs for their money.

Spencer Sanders continues to be decent — not elite, but decent — and the Cowboys did just enough to beat a quality Texas Tech team.

If Oklahoma State truly wants to have a shot at the playoff, it’ll need to take care of Oklahoma in the final game of the regular season and then win the Big 12 title. On top of that, the Cowboys must find consistent offense.

If they win out and discover an offensive identity, the Cowboys are going to be a force to be reckoned with in the playoff.

For now, the Cowboys will move up a couple of spots.
