1. Chip Kelly is building something special

We saw it a year ago as the Bruins finished just 3-4, but all four losses were close and could have easily been wins. The 2020 season was very close to becoming a special one for Chip Kelly who hadn’t made a bowl game in his first two years with the Bruins, but the tides seemed to be turning at UCLA.

Fast forward to 2021 and the Bruins are going bowling for the first time in years and they just locked up their first winning season since 2015 with their seventh win.

The Bruins have looked vastly improved all season long and Kelly has been pleased despite two recent losses to Pac-12 contenders in Utah and Oregon. The Bruins bounced back to beat Colorado last week and then had a chance to make a road statement against a rival that had beaten them two straight times. They did just that.

UCLA dominated USC in the crosstown rivalry and kind of proved that it’s the Bruins’ city now. USC is in limbo without a head coach and UCLA is trending in the right direction.

This win just proves that Kelly is building something special from the ground up.
