3. Billy Napier

Billy Napier is going to garner a lot of interest on the coaching carousel this cycle. The former Alabama and Clemson assistant has done a tremendous job at Louisiana and they are once again in contention for the Sun Belt title.

Napier is known for his talent evaluation and ability to recruit and would be a nice fit in Gainesville.

There is a risk associated with Napier, as he has only been a head coach at the Group of Five level and not a Power Five program, especially not one on the caliber as Florida. Those moves sometimes don’t work out and that might be the biggest risk for hiring him.

Expect Virginia Tech and LSU to also show significant interest and try to lure Napier to their programs. He might not be first on Florida’s list, but he would be a good hire for the Gators.
