The 2021 Heisman Trophy race has really started to heat up and we are down to four contenders. Here’s how they rank going into Week 13.

While the 2021 Heisman Trophy race hasn’t always been the most glamorous, it has been pretty static. Bryce Young became the early frontrunner after an impressive Week 1 showing against Miami and it really hasn’t changed.

In our weekly rankings of Heisman Trophy contenders, Young has claimed the top spot all weeks but two. Matt Corral grabbed the top spot for a week and Kenneth Walker did the same.

Yet, Young just continues to be steady. So does C.J. Stroud.

At one time this season, Ohio State football fans wanted Stroud benched. But it turned out he was injured and once he got healthy, he’s been as good as anyone on the offensive side of the ball.

So now with two weeks left, the 2021 Heisman Trophy race is really down to just a few guys and two favorites have emerged. There are still questions to answer for the others, such as who gets the invitation to New York and we break down the top four contenders heading into Week 13.

2021 Heisman Trophy candidate No. 4: Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss

Matt Corral started the year on fire and looked like a viable Heisman contender, especially when he accounted for seven touchdowns in a game and led Ole Miss past Arkansas with some late-game heroics.

Yet, in a head-to-head matchup against Young, Corral struggled and his numbers have dipped all season. He doesn’t rank in the top 10 nationally in any major stat category, although he’s been a tremendous difference-maker for the Rebels who could be headed to the Sugar Bowl with a win over Mississippi State this weekend.

If Corral can deliver another solid performance, it should be enough for a top-4 finish, and if a fourth guy gets invited it should be Corral.
