Top 10 College Football Rivalry Week picks against the spread
7. Georgia (-35) at Georgia Tech, Saturday 12 PM ET, ABC
This is the kind of game the spread was invented for. Georgia Tech isn’t going to beat Georgia on Saturday. Sure, crazier things have happened such as Kansas winning at Texas but this would be the biggest college football upset of the season and certainly during Rivalry Week.
But it’s not going to happen — at least straight up.
Some are acting like this game is meaningless for Georgia when that couldn’t be farther from the truth. The Bulldogs lock up a playoff berth with a win.
Sure, the Dawgs want to beat Bama and win the SEC but it will be nice knowing a playoff berth is in the bag heading into the Georgia Dome.
Georgia Tech, on the other hand, is fresh off a 55-0 loss at the hands of Notre Dame. The Irish are trying to score style points but still, the Yellow Jackets have fallen flat during a five-game losing streak.
The Jackets will have some extra fire for Rivalry Week and Clean Old-Fashioned Hate, but it won’t be enough and Georgia will win big, just will it be big enough?
Final score: Georgia 49, Georgia Tech 13
