Oklahoma State’s pass rush ruins the game for OU

Oklahoma State isn’t known for having a stellar defense but the Cowboys have the 2nd-best scoring defense in the country right now at 14.9 points per game and that’s in the Big 12 which makes that number even more impressive.

The Cowboys already beat Baylor, another team with a solid defense and a good ground game that could be waiting for OSU in the Big 12 title game. That same Bears team just beat the Sooners and the Cowboys can too and one big reason is the pass rush.

Brock Martin, Collin Oliver, and Devin Harper each have five sacks to their credit but as a team, Oklahoma State football has 39.5.

We saw Oklahoma football struggle to block Baylor a couple of weeks ago and this will be another road game, against an even better pass rush, in a hostile environment.

My prediction is that the Cowboys get after Caleb Williams to the tune of five sacks again. He won’t get out of this mini-slump on Saturday and it will lead to Mike Gundy’s third-ever win over Oklahoma football.

And if that happens, it could lead to a rematch next week, depending on if Baylor can take care of business against Texas Tech, but Oklahoma State would love nothing more than to end the Sooners run of Big 12 titles and tonight is the perfect opportunity.
