Military Bowl: Pittsburgh vs East Carolina

Sports Illustrated has a projection putting the Panthers in the Military Bowl in Annapolis against East Carolina.

East Carolina has already accepted an invitation to compete in this bowl game, so this opponent would be set if Pitt receives and an opportunity to compete in this bowl game.

Pitt and ECU have met each other four times in team history, splitting the games 2-2. The most recent game was in 1992 when the Pirates bested the Panthers 31-37 at home.

Pittsburgh would love the opportunity to take back control of the all-time series record against this team from the American Athletic Conference.

East Carolina finished their season strong, winning four out of their final five games of the season, powered by quarterback Holton Ahlers. The junior QB recorded 3,126 passing yards during the season, good enough for eighteenth-most in the nation.

This would be a nice location for both teams as the ECU campus is a little less than a five-hour drive to Annapolis and it’s around a 4.5-hour drive from Pittsburgh to Annapolis.
