Ranking the 25 worst games of past Heisman trophy winners: 17. Sam Bradford

  • 2008 College stats: 4,720 passing yards, 50 touchdowns, 8 interceptions
  • Worst game: 255 passing yards, 40.6% completion percentage

Kansas State was very much a mediocre team during the 2008 season. They weren’t awful but with Oklahoma and the eventual Heisman Trophy winner in Sam Bradford coming to town, it seemed as though he was going to cut right through their defense and dominate. Ultimately, that’s not how things played out.

Despite being a heavy, heavy favorite – Bradford and company had a ton of issues with Kansas State. Alright, so they won by more than 20 points but still, Kansas State hung in tough. The main reason why they were so effective is because Bradford was God awful.

The Heisman winner and eventual number one overall pick in the NFL Draft threw for only 255 yards. Also, check this part out, he completed just 13 of his 32 passes, good for 40.6%.

Heisman voters may have swept his bad game under the rug but man oh man was Bradford terrible on that Saturday afternoon.
