The UCF Football team, led by head coach Gus Malzahn in his first season with the Knights, are headed to their sixth consecutive bowl game.

UCF’s six-game streak was started by Scott Frost, continued by Josh Heupel and continues once again with Malzahn.

The Knights finished the regular season 8-4, good enough for third place in the AAC, behind only Cincinnati and Houston.

Let’s take a look at three possible bowl game destinations and opponents for the UCF football team.

UCF Knights vs Florida Gators

Gasparilla Bowl

247 Sports currently projects the Knights to compete in the Gasparilla Bowl against their northern neighbors from the SEC, the Florida Gators.

UCF and Florida have only met twice in team history — once in 1999 and again in 2006. Florida won both of those games, which were played in Gainesville.

These are two teams who are on opposite ends of the spectrum right now in the college football landscape. UCF is stable and growing under Gus Malzhan. Florida just fired Dan Mullen to hire Billy Napier from Louisiana.

UCF is well-positioned to get their first-ever win over Florida, which would be a boon for recruiting, the fan base, and their future Big 12 cohorts. A win over an SEC school would be absolutely massive.
