Missouri football is headed to a bowl game for the first time since 2018. We’re taking a look at three potential bowl game destinations for the Tigers.

Missouri football ended the regular season with a record of 6-6 and is eligible for its first bowl game since 2018.

Back in 2018, then-head coach Barry Odom (now the defensive coordinator at Arkansas) and the Tigers lost to Oklahoma State 38-33 at the Liberty Bowl game in Memphis.

The latest projections have Missouri playing in some solid bowl games against some interesting opponents that could get above .500 for the first time since 2018 when the team finished 8-5.

Let’s take a look at three possible destinations and opponents for the Tigers.

1. Liberty Bowl (vs. West Virginia)

247Sports has a projection putting the Tigers in Memphis to compete in the Liberty Bowl. It would be fitting for Missouri’s first bowl game in three years to be in the same setting as their most recent.

This projection has the Tigers facing West Virginia from the Big 12, a team they’ve played seven times in team history.

Their most recent meeting was in 2019 when Missouri bested the Mountaineers 38-7 in Colombia early in that season.

These two teams have one other notable meeting, which took place at the 1998 Insight.com Bowl game in Tucson, Ariz., Missouri won that matchup 34-31.
