Tennessee Football: 3 potential 2021 bowl destinations for the Vols
3. Outback Bowl (vs. Wisconsin)
Sporting News has a projection that will put the Vols taking on the Wisconsin Badgers in the Outback Bowl in Florida.
This would be Tennessee’s first appearance at the Outback Bowl since they defeated Northwestern 45-6 in 2015.
Tennessee and Wisconsin have met twice before in team history, once in 1981 in the Garden State Bowl and again in 2008 at the Outback Bowl. Both were wins for the Vols.
It would be fitting for the Vols to continue the tradition of meeting Wisconsin in a bowl game and a rematch of the 2008 Outback Bowl.
Wisconsin had the second-toughest schedule in college football, facing the likes of Penn State, Notre Dame, Michigan, Purdue, and Iowa — all ranked in the AP Top 25 at some point during the season. The Badgers managed to escape the season with a record of 8-4 despite the tough schedule.
This would be a quality bowl game for Tennessee and a great opponent.
