Alabama football shocked the nation with a big win over Georgia in the SEC title game, locking up a playoff berth along with the Bulldogs.

No one — and I mean no one — was giving Alabama football a chance to beat No. 1 Georgia on Saturday night in Atlanta, but the Crimson Tide shocked the Bulldogs 41-24.

Alabama improves to 12-1 on the year and it might just be the most overlooked one-loss team in recent memory but the Tide changed that on Saturday against the nation’s top team. After the win, Alabama is likely to jump to that No. 1 overall spot and both teams will more than likely be in the playoff.

Georgia had allowed just 84 points all season long and Alabama scored 41 which just goes to show that you can never count the Tide out.

What’d we learn from this rather improbable blowout win by Alabama?

3. Jameson Williams is nation’s top playmaker

Could you imagine if Jameson Williams stayed at Ohio State this season? He may not have had quite the same opportunities that he’s had at Alabama, but the season he’s had thus far has been nothing short of spectacular.

That receiving corps in Columbus this season if Jameson stayed would have been wild (Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Williams) but Alabama got lucky and landed him in the transfer portal. And outside of Kenneth Walker III at Michigan State, he’s probably been the most impactful transfer in the nation.

Against the nation’s top defense, Williams was a monster for the Tide, catching seven passes for 184 yards and two touchdowns. He’s the nation’s best playmaker, and I think it’d be tough to argue that at this point.

On the year, Williams now has 68 catches for 1,445 yards and 15 touchdowns. He’s elite and somehow still doesn’t get enough credit for how good he is.
