Our first Power Five conference championship of the weekend was decided in Las Vegas, as Oregon and Utah football battled it out in order to be crowned Pac-12 champion.

These two teams met just two weeks ago when the Utes eliminated the Ducks from playoff contention with a resounding 38-7 victory. Tonight’s game was no different to the chagrin of Oregon fans.

From start to finish, the Utes imposed their will and capitalized on the mistakes made by Oregon. The Utes picked up right where they left off on the first drive, by driving 61 yards for an opening drive capped off by a Tavion Thomas touchdown.

Shortly after that, Anthony Brown would throw an interception to Devin Lloyd, who would then take it back for six more. From there, Utah would never look back and it closed out this game by a score of 38-10.

Tavion Thomas finished the day with 63 yards on 18 carries and two touchdowns. Cameron Rising threw a couple of interceptions, but outside of that was a steady presence for the Utes.

Coming into this game, Oregon was ranked seven spots higher than Utah according to the CFP committee. After two statement victories head to head, it is now clear that Utah is the better team.

With a ticket to Pasadena punched by the Utes, what did we learn?
