Championship Week in college football was wild with a few major upsets. What will the final College Football Playoff rankings look like?

What a Championship Week in college football it was. The race for the final spots in the College Football Playoff was on as things were interesting early on Saturday afternoon.

Sure, there was a Power Five title game on Friday night, but Utah’s blowout win over Oregon had no effect on the College Football Playoff race. It did, however, decide the Rose Bowl attendee as the Utes will be headed to Pasadena over season-long favorite Oregon thanks to two blowout wins over the Ducks in the final month of the year.

Saturday kicked off with a wild Big 12 title game which ended in upset fashion. Everyone was expecting Oklahoma State to win, but Baylor shocked the nation and pulled off the upset over the Cowboys thanks to its defense. Oklahoma State’s somewhat slim playoff hopes were dashed and Baylor opened the door for that conversation if Michigan or Alabama were to lose their title games.

Speaking of Alabama, the Crimson Tide also shocked the nation and pulled off the upset of No. 1 Georgia in the SEC title game. The Bulldogs were expected to roll, but it was the other way around. Nick Saban is now 5-1 as an underdog at Alabama since 2008. Both teams are likely playoff-bound.

At the same time, Cincinnati was dominating Houston at Nippert Stadium to cruise to the first playoff appearance from a Group of Five team ever.

Finally, the Michigan vs. Iowa Big Ten title game matchup would decide the last playoff spot and the Wolverines needed a win to get in. They were the better team for a majority of the game and Jim Harbaugh clinched his first playoff berth ever.
